lahznimmo architects and landscape architects ASPECT Studio were engaged by Regal Innovations for City of Canterbury Bankstown to upgrade Paul Keating Park in Bankstown, NSW.
The upgrade, featuring a contemporary play area, is poised to become a distinctive focal point in the heart of Bankstown’s Civic precinct. Envisioned as a vibrant space, the new facilities aim to infuse joy, curiosity, and aspects of the native landscape into the daily experiences of individuals of diverse ages and abilities.
lahznimmo’s amenities block design draws direct influence from the native Angophora Seed Pod, serving as the conceptual foundation for the amenities. Mirroring the protective and sturdy qualities of these seed pods, the external walls are robust and protective while the interior provides a burst of colour. Views to and approach from the active play areas have been established by arranging the amenities into two pulled apart pods.
