This project involved the design and documentation of a new Operational Storage Facility for the Sydney Catchment Authority Bulk Water Division. The new building replaced the former facility, which was lost during the bushfires of Christmas 2002. The building performs two roles. The first is to provide an efficient and functional storage facility for the Bulk water Division. The second more poetic role is to provide an entrance or “Gateway” to the heritage listed Haviland Park, the main public focus of Warragamba Dam. The proposal achieves this through a linear timber screening element which slides along the edge of the building and carport.
