The project brief involved the design of 75 self-contained retirement dwellings. The design vision for the project was to create a high quality residential development in a bushland setting. The project aims to incorporate the character and values of the “Sydney School of Architecture”, including the following principles:
· Honest and robust materials
· Sensible and spacious design
· Good orientation
· Strong relationship to the existing bushland setting
The Masterplan for the project has been generated by the character and topography of the existing landscape as well as the public domain with the buildings being inserted into this framework. Critical to this framework is the existing Riparian Corridor in addition to two green public corridors, running north south and east west. The scope of lahznimmo’s commission extended to Development Application level of Documentation.
