lahznimmo architects were engaged by the University of NSW to develop a Brief and Masterplan for a new Student Services Building. The Goodsell Building, an existing building on the upper campus had already been earmarked as strategically located amongst other Student oriented facilities such as the Scientia and the Main Library. Current Student Services such as Administration, the Student Office, Counselling and Equity and Diversity are distributed across the campus and it was seen that the consolidation of these services into a centralized “One Stop Student Shop” would enhance the level of service being offered as well as benefit both Students and Staff. lahznimmo architects’ commission involved not only developing a functional brief and preferred Blocking and Stacking model but also to assist in re-evaluating the ways in which student services could be delivered once the services had been consolidated. lahznimmo architects approach to this task involved conducting a series of individual stakeholder interviews, interspersed with facilitated Workshops.
